Steve believes in the power of educators and their ability to make a difference in the lives of their students. He is committed to facilitating powerful learning opportunities for educators. He has experienced firsthand, that “When teachers are given the opportunity to collaborate, amazing and powerful instruction is the result!”
The majority of Steve’s teaching experience is at the secondary level. He has also worked in many elementary classrooms across the country to expand his knowledge of the issues and challenges facing elementary teachers today. Steve is a certified TCI Trainer, History Alive! Coach, Classroom Organization Management Program Trainer, and Franklin Covey Facilitator.
Steve is a master facilitator and educator with national recognition as an expert in K-12 social studies. He has presented at numerous state social studies conferences as well as NCSS and NSSSA. Steve brings his passion and enthusiasm for engaging best practices to the s3 community. Steve is thrilled to be back in his teaching and learning roots with s3strategies.
Sherry grew years of experience as a classroom teacher and District Social Studies Specialist into her passion for empowering teachers. She is committed to helping educators close the “knowing and doing” gap, knowing and believing the theory but not knowing what it looks like in the classroom, through sharing practical, doable strategies.
During the last 15 years, Sherry has facilitated over 500 days of professional development in 26 states. Sherry has presented at NCSS and multiple state conferences. She co-authored the most recent TCI Methods books for elementary and secondary educators, Bringing Learning Alive!.
In 2007, s3strategies was born out of a desire to provide quality staff development featuring dynamic student-centered strategies designed to integrate with any and all curriculum. For Sherry, it’s all about empowering teachers to equip their students to achieve!
